Parkfield Medical Centre

About Us

'Providing the latest medical care to our community with the help of our community Yesterday, Today and Always’

The practice has been providing medical care to the patients of Potters Bar and its surrounding area since the 1920s. We promise to try our very best for all our patients at all times.

We have a superb, comfortable and well-equipped modern surgery. We have recently extended our premises to accommodate a lift making our facilities accessible to all. There is ample parking in The Walk that is free of charge for one hour. We have a parking bay outside the practice, which can be used for patients displaying a disabled sticker. The surgery is wheelchair accessible and has a loop for the hearing impaired.

We can arrange translation and interpretation services for patients who do not speak English.

We strive to be innovative and improve our services that we provide to our patients. Parkfield has been providing extended hours to its patients for over ten years, not since 2009 like many other practices.

We pride ourselves on being a responsive practice. We listen. In response to patient need we have changed our telephone system and appointment systems and increased the number of appointments that we offer. In 2008 the practice recorded 10,743 patient consultations, in 2009 there were 11,295 consultations; an increase of 6%.

Our staff are friendly, professional and happy to help you. We have dedicated teams to deal with your results and prescription questions. Our practice systems and work practices have been recognized by outside organizations, such as the Medical Defense Union, for innovation and safety.

Parkfield strives to provide the best medical care possible in the community; the surgery consistently scores maximum points for clinical care. In 2010 we scored 99.9% in the clinical domains of the new GP contract. 99% in 2009 and 98.5% in 2008.

The surgery has an active patient participation group, the Friends Of Parkfield, which was established in 2002. Working with the Friends Of Parkfield is our patient liaison officer.
